‘The greater part of human pain is unnecessary, it is self-created as long as the unobserved mind runs your life’ writes Eckhart Tolle in his book, The Power of Now, my current read.

We all have pain somewhere in our bodies, my dear Dad would say “pain is our bodies way of telling us that something is wrong”.  Yet why do we tend to ignore it, is it the denial or the it will go away if I ignore it piece?

Our mind loves time, past or future it thrives on our yesterday’s and tomorrow’s, and looks to escape the timeless now. When you live in the present, day dream or meditate you are not a slave to time.  Once you come out of it, there it is, big time.

Animals and our pets only live in the now, you, food, a wagging tail, no anxiety about when or where the next poop is going to appear or worry about the chewed slipper you haven’t seen yet, no past, future, just present.

Be the observer of your emotions, feelings and thoughts and you will enjoy the present, your gift to you in each moment.
